Message from Rachel and Jo
Welcome back to the start of a brand-new school year! It has been such a pleasure to see the children return this week, full of energy, smiles and stories from their summer holidays. A very special welcome also goes to our new Reception and EYFS children who are just beginning their school journey with us – we are so pleased to have you join our community and are already enjoying getting to know you.
As always at the start of term, much of our focus has been on settling everyone back into the rhythm of school life, re-establishing routines and ensuring that children feel happy, safe and ready to learn. This week we also came together for our You Matter assembly, where we introduced our new school values – Valuing Others, Aspiration, Love of Learning, Understanding, Effort and Self-Belief – alongside a reminder of our three school rules: Ready, Respectful and Safe. These will guide us through the year ahead and help us all to be the very best we can be.
Over the summer, the school has undergone some big changes with the installation of new air exchange heat pumps. This is a really positive step towards our sustainability goals and will make a big difference for the future. However, it does mean that the school isn’t quite looking at its best in this first week back – so thank you for bearing with us while the finishing touches are completed.
It already feels like the year is off to a strong start, and we are looking forward to everything the coming weeks will bring.
Rachel and Jo

Safeguarding
As term gets underway, we’d like to gently remind parents about a crucial safety point at home: blind cord safety. Looped blind cords can pose a serious hazard to young children—they can become entangled in less than a minute. To reduce risks, please ensure cords are always kept well out of reach—ideally secured with a cleat, tidy, or tensioner, and never tied to furniture. It’s also safer to keep beds, cots, highchairs, and playpens away from windows altogether. Many new blinds come “safe by design,” being cordless or with built-in safety devices. For a helpful official guide, please see the UK Government’s “Child safety: blind cords” page. GOV.UK
