In writing, year 2 have started their new genre of writing instructions. They have been inspired by their class text, ‘Man on the Moon’, to make their own version of Bob’s favourite lunch, which was a delicious cheese sandwich. Next they will write the instructions for making cheese sandwiches. They will need to include these elements in their writing.

1. Title outlines the goal using ‘How to…’
2. Equipment list, without a subheading, listed horizontally, using ‘you will need’ and commas in a list.
3. Numbered sequence of instructions using command verbs 
4. Adverbials of time used to start some sentences
